South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority (SBRPCA) Invoices—Build Out on Delivered Police Vehicles.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends the City Council approve the payments to SBRPCA, for services rendered pertaining to invoice #04730 ($125,954.07) and invoice #04729 ($17,597.17). Staff also recommends that the City Council appropriate funds for quote #3174 ($64,208.60) for scheduled build-outs on new police vehicles.
DISCUSSION:
The Hawthorne Police Department utilizes the services from the South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority for the final build out of police vehicles (lights, sirens, electronics, comms). Invoice #04729 ($17,597.17) pertains to the installation and equipment needed for five (5) unmarked surveillance vehicles. Invoice #04730 ($125,954.07) pertains to the emergency equipment needed for 5 new marked police vehicles (black and white). Quote #3174 ($64,208.80) is for the projected build out of 3 administrative vehicles that are due to be delivered at the end of June 2026. The total amount requested ($207,753.84) would keep the seamless transfer of vehicles that need to be taken off the road and provide sound replacements. These costs have been forecasted for the current budget, and are available on account #229-2102-000-0-0-47404.
