Approval of a Grant Agreement with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the Clean California Local Grant Program.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends approving the grant agreement and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement and all related documents as necessary.
DISCUSSION:
The Clean California Local Grant Program provides funding to local agencies for projects that reduce litter, beautify public spaces, improve public health, and enhance community spaces. Under the proposed grant agreement, the City will receive funding from Caltrans to implement citywide Community Cleanups. This will focus on improving public spaces through letter reduction, beautification and environmental improvements.
The grant agreement will begin upon Caltrans approval and issuance of Notice to Proceed and will expire on November 1, 2027, with project closeout and reporting required by that time. Approval of this agreement will allow the City to move forward with implementing the project and receive reimbursement of $157,000 in eligible costs.

This project will support economic development by enhancing the cleanliness of public spaces, making the City more attractive for residents, visitors, and businesses.
