Presentation and discussion from the Urban County Program regarding the 2025 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count and an overview of the upcoming 2026 PIT Count, which will be conducted on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

1)  On January 22, 2026, our community will participate in the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, a one-day count and survey of individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Hidalgo County. This effort, led by Urban County Program and Community Service Agency in                   collaboration with local nonprofits, volunteers, and community partners, provides a vital “snapshot” of the number of people experiencing homelessness as well as key characteristics of those individuals and families.
 
     The results reflect the minimum number of people experiencing homelessness in Hidalgo County on any given day. The PIT Count data strengthens our understanding of the needs and circumstances of the people experiencing homelessness in our community and helps us secure                 funding and resources to better serve those in need
