The Urban County Program is requesting approval of a best and final negotiated contract with J.E. Saenz & Associates in the amount of $ 26,536.00 utilizing Year 16 & 18 (2003 & 2005) funds for a Water/Sewer Improvement Project for the City of Elsa.

BACKGROUND

The City of Elsa requested an Emergency Declaration in connection with the immediate replacement of the main lift station pumps, control panel and wiring, suction and discharge piping located at the City Sewer Plant.   Hidalgo County Commissioner's Court approved the Emergency Declaration on September 16, 2008, thereafter the authorization of negotiating a contract for the highest evaluated engineer firm was approved.   J.E. Saenz & Associates, was the highest rated firm by Commissioner's Court.  Contract approval in the amount of $26,536.00 will allow for the completion of all items related to the completion of project so that the Sewer Plant can become operational to meet TCEQ requirements.
