Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Edcouch is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a Construction Contract with M F Site Construction (lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements) for the Street Improvements Project located in the City of Edcouch in the amount of $132,397.12 utilizing Year 21 (2008) street improvement funds. The project consists of street overlays & 6 new concrete valley gutters.

BACKGROUND

The City of Edcouch has requested and received bids for the street improvements project.  Guzman & Muñoz Engineering and Surveying, Inc. prepared specification packages and bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on February 24, 2010.  After review the project engineer recommended M F Site Construction, as the lowest of four (4) qualified bidders. (See attached recommendation letter from Guzman & Muñoz Engineering and Surveying, Inc. and copy of bid tabulations.)
