The Urban County Program is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Total Commitment, LLC, in the amount of $369,647.00, for street improvements in Hidalgo County Precinct No. 3 utilizing Urban County Program Year 20 (2007), Year 21 (2008) & Year 22 (2009) Street Improvement funds.

BACKGROUND

Bid opening was on March 24, 2010 and the recommended bidder that meets all specifications and/or requirements is Total Commitment, LLC.  The project consists of street construction in Citrus Shadows Subdivision, Los Niños Subdivision, Stewart Palms Subdivision, & Val Verde Subdivision in the Precinct No. 3 area.  See attached bid tabulation and recommendation by project engineer, Javier Hinojosa.

Contract Amount: $369,647.00 Total Commitment, LLC

Funds Available:  $     5,625.88  Year 20 (2007) Precinct No. 3 Street Improvement funds 
                            $ 329,310.00  Year 21 (2008) Precinct No. 3 Street Improvement funds 
                            $ 828,870.27  Year 22 (2009) Precinct No. 3 Street Improvement funds 
                            $1,163,806.15  TOTAL
