BACKGROUND
The Office of the Attorney General awarded the Sheriff's Office $74,482.00 for FY2010 and FY2011 ($37,241.00 per year), covering the period of 09/01/09 to 08/31/11.
On 08/18/09, the grant was approved and accepted by Commissioners' Court (AI-16902). The grant budget for FY2010 (first year) was also approved.
The Sheriff's Office is now requesting approval of the budget for FY2011 (second year). Our office will require additional funding from General Fund for the position. The grant award is not sufficient to fully
fund the salary, longevity, and fringe benefits for the employee.
