Requesting approval to amend FY ‘09 Contract between the Urban County Program and Proyecto Azteca.
BACKGROUND
The UCP entered into contract with Proyecto Azteca on September 28, 2009 in the amount of $1,000,700. The purpose of this contract was to build twenty five (25) single-family homes. The contract currently allows for reimbursement of construction costs, soft costs and land acquisition. The original budget submitted for this contract included a fixed unit price for twenty-five (25) units of $40,028 however Proyecto Azteca would like to use other grants received as matching funds thus allowing the per unit cost to be reduced within this contract.. This undertaking will leave a balance of $191,446 within the UCP-CHDO contract. Proyecto Azteca plans to use these funds to purchase additional lots in other qualified areas of the County. This amendment will allow for Proyecto Azteca to purchase more vacant lots and create more affordable housing opportunities for qualified families within Hidalgo County. The UCP recommends approval of this amendment.
