The County of Hidalgo Urban County Program (UCP) is disclosing that Maria Dolores Barco, who has applied for housing assistance, is the mother of Mr. Antonio Barco, UCP Deputy Director.

As per 24 CFR 92.356(d)(1), the UCP must publicly disclose that Maria Dolores Barco is related to the Urban County Program Deputy Director, Antonio Barco.  While applying under the Owner-Occupied Housing Program, Ms. Barco advised the UCP Rehabilitation Assistant that she is related to Antonio Barco.  In compliance with 24 CFR 92.356(d)(2), the UCP requested and received a legal opinion from Mr. Steve Crain, County Attorney.  The legal opinion received stated that the approval of the application for Ms. Barco, would not violate Texas state or local laws.  As a result, the UCP must publicly disclose the above mentioned case before it can request an exception for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  (See attachments).
