The Urban County Program is requesting authorization for the County Judge to sign the Request for Release of Funds and Certification for a Tiered, Multi-Year project utilizing Fiscal Year 2010, 2011 & 2012 HOME Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Funds to undertake housing activities within Hidalgo County in the amount of $4,374,000.

In order for the Urban County Program to receive the 2010, 2011 & 2012 HOME CHDO Funds, the County Judge or designee must sign the Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds and the Request for Release of Funds and Certification for submittal to the Office of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development by the published timeline.  The requested funding amount of $4,374,000 is for the development of approximately one hundred and thirty five (135) single-family homes over a three year period.  The Urban County Program, in conjunction certified Community Housing Development Organizations, will acquire land and begin construction of these single-family homes at scattered sites within Hidalgo County.
