CAPTION

The Urban County Program is requesting approval of an Amendment to a Professional Engineering Service contract with R. Gutierrez Engineering Corporation to increase the contract amount of $3,200.00 by $800.00 for a total amount of $4,000.00.  The City of Progreso will utilize FY 2010 (Year 23) Street Improvements funds.

BACKGROUND

The Urban County Program is requesting approval of amendment to a professional services contract approved on July 7, 2002.  The original contract amount of $3,200.00 included the engineering services for Shelby Street to be improved.  The project was bid out in 2003, however, the bids came in over budget and due to budgetary constraints the city opted not to approve the lowest responsible bid and wait until fund became available.  The city now has additional 2010 funds that have been allocated for project completion of Shelby Street.  (See attached increase certification submitted by R. Gutierrez Engineering Corporation and agreed upon by the UCP.)

Original Contract Amount:                $3,200.00
