BACKGROUND
The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) provides formal education for county investment officers, including an optional certificate program which allows investment officers to earn and maintain the certified County Investment Officer (CIO) credential. Through membership with TAC, CIOs have the opportunity to receive continuing education without registration charges. Also, investment training helps county investment officers get the most return on the taxpayers' dollar.
