Requesting authority to dispose of HOME records that have met record retention requirements per 24 CFR 92.508(c)(2).
BACKGROUND
The record retention regulation, 24 CFR 92.508(c)(2), for HOME assisted clients states:
"For homeownership housing projects, records may be retained for five (5) years after the project completion date, except for documents imposing recapture/resale restrictions which must be retained for five years after the affordability period terminates."
The affordability maturity dates for all HOME assisted client files submitted for disposal, range from 2002 to 2005. These records have been maintained as set forth under 24 CFR 92.508(c)(2) "for five years after the affordability terminates." (see attached list)
