Joe Alvarez, Animal Warden was fueling vehicle number HD-41,( plates 102-5275, year 2008, vin #1FTRF12W58KC73738, asset #47703) at Aziz, 500 E. La Joya, La Joya, Texas on May 11, 2011 when the store computer system went down, once the system was up and running all the pumps were turned on from the inside of the store. Mr. Alvarez was not aware of the situation until he went inside to obtain the receipt the pump was out of paper and the store manager explained to him what had happened so the pump did not charge out side he needed to pay inside but county fuel cards are pay at the pump only therefore, the manager could not run the card. Purchasing staff was notified, they called Transmontaigne to see if the charge could be retrieved from the pump but they could not, as per Purchasing we had no other choice but to pay the fuel ourselves. Mr. Alvarez did not have the money to cover the $70.17 of fuel so I paid with my personal credit card.
