Discussion, consideration, and approval of Interlocal Cooperation Act Agreement between the County of Hidalgo and the City of McAllen for Equipment /Service Sharing.

BACKGROUND

Hidalgo County submitted a grant application on behalf of Hidalgo County, Cameron County, Willacy County Divisions of Emergency Management and the City of Brownsville Fire/Police Department, City of Harlingen Fire Department and the City of McAllen for the 2009 LEPA/SHSP Grant in the amount of $834,223.65 from DHS, TDEM and as administered by the LRGVDC for a region-wide communication system.

Grant was approved as by the state to purchase (9) repeaters as part of a regional communications project which will be disseminated/installed at each participating entity's selected location after each interlocal is approved. 

This agreement is to share/transfer equipment in accordance with the grant to the City of McAllen. Interlocal Agreements with the other participating entities will also be presented to court.
