Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Edcouch and Precinct No. 1 is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Metro Electric, Inc. for the 2009 water treatment plant improvements “electrical upgrade” located in the City of Edcouch. Contract amount of $175,110.00 utilizing UCP City of Edcouch Yr’s 21, 22 & 23 (2009) water/sewer improvements, Precinct No. 1 Yr’s 19, 20 & 22 (2006, 2007 & 2009) water/sewer improvements and City of Edcouch general funds.
BACKGROUND
Approved as to form by Legal Counsel on 05/11/2012
The City of Edcouch and Precinct No. 1 has requested and received bids for the street and drainage improvements project. Guzman & Muñoz Engineering and Surveying, Inc., prepared specification packages and bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on February 29, 2012. After review the project engineer recommended Metro Electric, Inc. as the lowest of two (2) qualified bidders. (See attached recommendation letter from Guzman & Muñoz Engineering and Surveying, Inc. and copy of bid tabulations.)

Contract Amount: $175,110.00
Funds Available: $ 94,380.08 Yr’s 21, 22 & 23 (2008, 2009 & 2010) Edcouch – water/sewer imp.
$ 54,729.32 Yr’s 19, 20 & 22 (2006, 2007 & 2008) Pct. 1 water/sewer imp.
$ 26,000.83 City of Edcouch General Funds
