On behalf of the Hidalgo County Precinct No. 1, Urban County Program is requesting approval to reject the sole bid submitted by Jimmy Closner & Sons Construction Co., Inc. of Mercedes, TX with a total price of $299,369.70 for FY 22 (2009) Street improvements for Saenz Avenue.
BACKGROUND
Bid were received and opened at the Hidalgo County Purchasing Department on September 26, 2012. After review the project engineer recommended that the sole bid be rejected, due to consequently high-priced bid. See attached recommendation letter from TEDSI Infrastructure Group.
