Discussion, consideration, and approval to apply and submit the application of the Technology Transfer Program Grant to the Counter Drug Technology Assessment Center.
BACKGROUND
In 1998, the Technology Transfer Program was enacted by Congress for state, local and tribal law enforcement. This program provides technologies and training to law enforcement agencies to support investigative operations through a competitive application process. Technologies are transferred to recipient agencies and become the permanent property of those agencies. The technology comes at no cost to the agency, however the agency must evaluate the technologies usefulness during the grant period. (1 year)
The County may potentially incur costs associated with technology equipment extended warranties, maintenance agreements, telephone and celluar services, and subscriber line fees after the 1 year grant period expires.
