Requesting approval to terminate the grant agreement with American Red Cross – South Texas Chapter for FY 2011 (UCP 24) and for FY 2012 (UCP 25) for a total of $84,154.48 approved by County Commissioner’s Court on July 5, 2012 and September 4, 2012 (Agenda Items # 27293 and # 33822).
BACKGROUND
American Red Cross – South Texas Chapter has requested that the FY 2011 and FY 2012 HESG contracts be terminated because of the fact that the services they provide are to clients suffering from an emergency disaster and they do not know when a disaster will occur. In addition, it is very difficult to meet the 30% median income requirement being that American Red Cross does not discriminate on income basis.
