Requesting authorization for Hidalgo County to execute the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Hidalgo County and the La Joya Independent School District.
BACKGROUND
The purpose of the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement is for the construction of a Community Safe Room for the District under the Hazard Mitigation Grant - Texas Safe Shelter Initiative.

The County applied for a grant on behalf of the District for the construction of a Community Safe Room under the Hazard Mitigation Grant - Texas Safe Shelter Initiative. The Community Safe Room will be incorporated into a new multipurpose facility at the Palmview High School for the La Joya Independent School District. The Grant covers 75% of the eligible cost of the Project and requires a 25% match by the District.
