Approval of a Subrecipient Agreement with The Salvation Army and the Urban County Program - ESG/UCP Year 20 (2007) under the Emergency Shelter Grant Program for Maintenance and Operations, Essential Services, and Homeless Prevention Services.

BACKGROUND

The Salvation Army will use their funds at their homeless shelter.  Services include:

Maintenance &Operations              Essential Services                                     Homeless Prevention
Utilities (light, phone, water)           Staff salaries/benefits(shelter manager,     Utility cut-offs, rent, Yard Maintenance/Minor repairs              case worker)                                                rental deposits, and
Supplies (cleaning/office)                                                                                     mortgage foreclosures Food/comfort kits
Equipment replacement

Subrecipient:                        The Salvation Army
                                             $74,000.00-  Maintenance & Operations 
                                               42,000.00 - Essential Services
                                               10,000.00-  Homeless Prevention Services
Total Agreement Amt.:         $126,000.00

Funds Available:                   $126,000.00

Approval of agreement is recommended.
