1. Requesting acceptance and action to correct the base bid total from $55,047.29 to $55,042.76, due to the contractor’s mathematical error.

2. Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Mercedes is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Saenz Utility Contractors, LTD for the 8” off-site sanitary sewer improvements safe room shelter located within the City of Mercedes. Total contract amount of $55,042.76 utilizing UCP - City of Mercedes FY 25 (2012) water/sewer improvement funds.

 The City of Mercedes has requested and received bids for the 8” off-site sanitary sewer improvements safe room shelter project. Guzman and Muñoz Engineering and Surveying, Inc. prepared the specification packages; bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on March 12, 2014. After review the project engineer recommended Saenz Utility Contractors, LTD as the lowest of six (6) qualified bidders.
