Requesting approval of Resolution authorizing the Hidalgo County Urban County Program (UCP) to submit a Texas Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (TEMAP) application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA).

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) is making available approximately $70 million in emergency mortgage assistance to entitlement communities in the state of Texas.  The program will assist low income eligible households impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
TEMAP will provide up to six (6) months of emergency mortgage assistance which can include a combination of arrears, current and future mortgage payments so long as at least one month is for current or future payment.
