Requesting approval of Change Order No.1 which results in a cost savings under [C-20-294-02-23] with REIM Construction, Inc. for Hidalgo County Precinct No.3 - Mile 3 N Road Project (Tom Gill Road to FM 492 [Goodwin Road]) as agreed upon all by all parties and subject to receipt of TXDOT letter of concurrence.

BACKGROUND

Subject to TxDOT Concurrence Letter.

Change Order# 1 is a cost savings change order that removes three bid items from the contract. These items are: 1) 316-6005: Asphalt (Tier Ill), 2) 316-6426: Aggregate (Gr 4P), and 3) 400-6011: Sand Backfill. The first two items were originally introduced as alternate items on the Contractor's Bid Proposal. These seal coat items do not add to the pavement strength values or longevity to the final pavement layer and are therefore not required. The sand backfill item is used for the reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) installation when the native soil cannot be used. The Contractor agrees to remove these items from their estimate.
