Requesting approval to pay membership dues to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Leticia Chavez, Director of Audit Division for the Hidalgo County Auditor's Office, in the total amount of $195.00 (Requisition #435471) with the authority for the County Treasurer to issue a check after review, audit, and processing procedures are completed by the County Auditor.
BACKGROUND
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiner's purpose is to reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist the membership in fraud detection and deterrence (1) by providing bona fide qualifications for Certified Fraud Examiners through the administration of the CFE Examination; (2) by setting high standards for admission, including demonstrated competence through mandatory continuing professional education; (3) requiring certified Fraud Examiners to adhere to a strict code of professional conduct and ethics; (4) by serving the international representative for certified fraud examiners to business, government, and academic institutions; and, (5) by providing leadership to inspire public confidence in the integrity, objectivity, and professionalism of Certified Fraud Examiners.
