The Urban County Program for City of La Joya is requesting authority for consideration, discussion, and action for award of bid and approval of construction contract with Valley Paving, Inc. (lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements) for the Construction of Alex Street to include curb and gutter (RFB: 5006-40-0311-3000-4000-KS) located in the City of La Joya area in the amount of $61,473.40 utilizing City of La Joya Street Improvements UCP Year 18 (2005), and Year 20 (2007) Street Improvement funds.

BACKGROUND

The City of La Joya requests approval to award a contract in the amount of $61,473.40 with Valley Paving, Inc. The project consists of proposed street improvements to include curb and gutter to Alex Street and will utilize City of La Joya Urban County Program funds Year 18 (2005) and Year 20 (2007).   (See attached bid tabulation sheet).
