Notice to apply for funds:
The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) launched the Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund (LATCF) program for eligible revenue sharing counties and eligible Tribal governments in 2022. Under this program, recipients have broad discretion on uses of funds, similar to the ways they may use funds generated from their own revenue sources.The LATCF provides $1.5 billion in two equal payments of $750 million for FYs 2022 and 2023 to “eligible revenue sharing counties” under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). NACo has worked with Congress and the administration since March 2021 to ensure the final distribution formula reflects the original intent of the LATCF to support counties with federal lands within their jurisdiction. Treasury’s formula makes counties receiving either PILT payments from the US Department of the Interior or Refuge Revenue Sharing payments from the US Fish and Wildlife Service eligible for LATCF as well. These funds can be used for any governmental purposes other than a lobbying activity. Eligible counties may receive payments between $50,000 and $6 million per year for two years under LATCF (click here to see how much your county is eligible for).
 
The deadline to apply for LATCF is January 31, 2023 at 11:39 PM AKST. After this deadline, there will be no other application opportunity for LATCF. Any unclaimed funds will be rolled into the FY2023 payments to counties that applied on-time.
