Requesting approval to cancel bid awarded for the demolition and the reconstruction of one (1) unit in the City of Hidalgo in the amount of $32,500.00 to GMH Construction.

BACKGROUND

The Zepeda family had tried to obtain a loan to repay the City of Hidalgo (agreement between the City of Hidalgo and UCP) in the amount of $20,000. In addition, a lien was placed on the property by Mr. Zepeda' s brother, which UCP had no choice but to put the case on hold until the issue was resolved. Due to the amount of time since the bid approval date on September 16, 2003 by the County Commissioners' Court and the current rise of construction costs we are requesting to cancel the bid received by GMH Construction in the amount of $32,500.00. This cancellation will allow staff to prepare new plans and re-bid the work.
