CAPTION

Health & Human Services- CDC (1293):
Requesting approval to apply for a parasite infection grant offered by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

BACKGROUND

The purpose of this FOA is to reduce the overall burden of neglected parasitic infections (NPIs) in the United
States through evidence-based prevention and control activities including the development of new strategies,
educational tools and materials, and guidelines. NPIs are a group of five parasitic diseases that have been
targeted by the CDC as priorities for public health action based on the number of people infected, severity of
the illnesses, and the ability to prevent and treat them.
