Discussion and approval to execute an inter-local agreement between the County of Hidalgo and the City of Weslaco for implementation of scofflaw procedures and processes for vehicle registration denial services. 

The purpose of this Agreement is to state the terms and conditions under which the County Tax Assessor-Collector may refuse to register certain motor vehicles.  The County Tax Assessor-Collector will receive information from the City that the owner of the vehicle has an outstanding warrant for failure to appear or failure to pay a fine on a complaint that involves the violation of a traffic law as defined by Texas Transportation Code Section 702.001(3).  The term of this agreement shall be for there (3) year(s) and this agreement shall automatically renew for two (2) additional one year terms.
