Requesting approval to dispose of HOME Investment Partnerships Program records
BACKGROUND
The applicable Code of Federal Regulation related to “Record Retention” for the HOME Program is 24 CFR Part 92.508(c)(2), which states,
“92.508(c). Period of record retention. All records pertaining to each fiscal year of HOME funds must be retained for the most recent five year period, except as provided below.
92.508(c)(2). For homeownership housing projects, records may be retained for five years after the project completion date, except for documents imposing recapture/resale restrictions which must be retained for five years after the affordability period terminates.”
The Exhibit “A” provides a list boxes which contents consists of HOME project files that are five years beyond the affordability period (lien period).
