The Urban County Program requests approval of the Emergency Solutions Grant- Corona Virus Program Sub-Recipient Agreement with Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, a Non-Profit Agency, in the amount of $400,000.00 for Program Year (2020) retroactively effective November 1, 2020 to October 31, 2021(See attached Agreement.

On March 27, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to help the Nation respond to the coronavirus outbreak. The CARES Act made available $4 billion in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG-CV) funds to supplement the Fiscal Year 2020 ESG funding. These special ESG-CV funds are to be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus pandemic among individuals and families who are homeless or receiving homeless assistance and to support additional homeless assistance and homelessness prevention activities to mitigate the impacts of COVID 19.
