Urban County Program (UCP) is requesting County Commissioner’s Court approval for Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez to sign the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HOME-ARP Grant Agreement in the amount of $7,461,499.
BACKGROUND
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 appropriated $5 billion to provide housing, services, and shelter to individuals experiencing homeless and other vulnerable populations, to be allocated by formula to jurisdictions that qualified for HOME Investment Partnerships Program allocations in Fiscal Year 2021. As a result, HUD mailed UCP the HOME-ARP award letter dated September 22, 2021, with the HUD HOME-ARP Grant Agreement attached and requesting the County Judge’s signature.
