CAPTION
Discussion and approval of participation agreement for Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) between Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (W/B HIDTA) and Hidalgo County Health and Human Services. Requesting for authorization Health Department Director to sign agreement.
BACKGROUND
Requesting to enter an agreement with ODMap to comply with state reporting mandates under Senate Bill 1319, which requires overdose events to be reported to a local health authority or law enforcement and entered into a state mapping system. ODMap will facilitate data sharing with EMS and law enforcement agencies and the health department, ensuring accurate documentation of overdose incidents, including location, time, case status, and opioid antagonist use. Since Hidalgo County DA HIDTA Task Force already utilizes ODMap, this collaboration will enhance data collection efforts for overdose events, allowing us to identify high-risk areas and implement targeted educational and prevention campaigns.
