Discussion and approval to execute an agreement between the County of Hidalgo and Lone Star National Bank to act as a limited-service deputy authorized agent of the County in the issuance of Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal Stickers.  This agreement is subject to the Limited Service Deputy providing a surety bond in an amount as determined by the County Tax Assessor-Collector in accordance with applicable law.   

Lone Star National Bank has been under contact since 2020 and would like to continue to be an authorized limited service deputy for Hidalgo County.  The Tax Assessor-Collector sees a need to continue to offer the nine locations to the citizens of Hidalgo County.  Lone Star National Bank will guarantee faithful performance of duties by posting a surety bond in an amount as determined by the County Tax Assessor-Collector in accordance with applicable law.  Lone Star National Bank agrees to comply with the requirements of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles WebAgent system.  The statute to the Transportation Code 520.0071 and Texas Administrative Code Title 43 Part 10 that allow for this agreement are included.
