Requesting a declaration of public purpose pursuant to the Texas Constitution Article 3, Section 52, to purchase items to be used to carry out the Power Out Cooking Program(s) presentations for FY 2026.

The consumable and promotional items are introduced through the Power out Cooking Program(s) while promoting our educational message, helping to interact with participants, thereby instilling, strengthening, and reinforcing our partnership and commitment to the citizens and employees of Hidalgo County. The Power Out Cooking Program(s) helps raise awareness for emergency and disaster preparation within county departments and/or the community. Providing interactive and educational experiences to help mitigate, respond and recover during and/or after a disaster aids in stabilizing the local economy. All consumable, promotional items and supplies acquired will be through the County requisition and purchase order procedures with available funding for said expenditures.
