Discussion, consideration, and approval of the Hidalgo County Charity Care Program Financial Assistance Policy for submission to the Health and Human Services Commission, as required for participation in the Charity Care Program for Fiscal Year 2026 (October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026).
BACKGROUND
On June 24, 2025, Commissioners Court approved participation in the Charity Care Program (CCP) (AI-99704). The CCP allows qualified providers to receive reimbursement for the cost of delivering healthcare services, including immunizations and other preventive services, when those costs are not reimbursed by another source. Participation in the CCP has the potential to generate additional revenue for the County for services we already provide.
