BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND:
The County of Hidalgo, through its Urban County Program and in partnership with the Texas General Land Office and Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, is utilizing funds from the Texas General Land Office State Mitigation Competition Flood Grant to support the Hidalgo County Main Floodwater Channel Expansion, Phase 1, Segment B, spanning from Mile 19 Rd. to Mile 4 Rd. With a contract amount of $9,858,499.20 and an agreement date of November 30, 2021, this project is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation Program and aims to restore and enhance drainage infrastructure for communities impacted by the 2015 floods.
