The Urban County Program is requesting approval and award of contract to Saenz Utility Contractors in the amount of $166,585.00 for the Water/Sewer Improvements (Emergency Project Phase I) in the City of Elsa, utilizing Years 18 (2005) funds. The request for contract approval will also include an additional four (4) items to the emergency items previously approved by Hidalgo County Commissioner’s Court.
BACKGROUND
City of Elsa has requested a proposal for the emergency item declared by Hidalgo County Commissioner’s Court on September 16, 2008. J.E. Saenz & Associates was approved as the project engineer. Based on the recommendation of the project engineer a request to approve four (4) additional items is necessary for project completion: 1) Temporary System Bypass 2) Mobilization 3) Miscellaneous pipes, fitting and valves 4) Structural steel beam with concrete support base. (See attached proposal) Letter of recommendation from J.E. Saenz & Associates. Inc., is also attached for your review.
