The Urban County Program requests approval of a Water/Sewer- Street construction contract with United Contracting in the amount of $324,028.00, utilizing Urban County Program funds (FY 2007) in the amount of $117,407.00,  and City of Alamo General funds in the amount of $206,621.00.

BACKGROUND

The Urban County Program requested and opened bids on January 28, 2009 at which (9) nine bids were received.  The bids were reviewed by Quintanilla, Headley & Associates project engineers, and a recommendation was submitted to the city of Alamo.  The City of Alamo met on February 3, 2009 and approved the recommendation to Hidalgo County Commissioner’s Court to approve the lowest responsible bidder.  The project consists of the installation of sanitary sewer lines and the paving of Lopez and Veronica Ann Subdivision Streets.  (See attached letter of recommendation.)
