Requesting approval to rescind previous action taken on May 27, 2008 for bid award and contracts for the demolition and the reconstruction of one (1) unit in the Countywide area in the amount of $38,448.00 to R & R General Contractors.
BACKGROUND
Due to unforeseen circumstances related to flood zone requirements the project triggered a change order. However, the change order amount exceeds the allowed Hidalgo County Purchasing Policies and Procedures Section 7.05, which states, “…the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25%)”. As a result, the Urban County Program is recommending cancellation of contracts, thereby allowing re-bidding of the project.
