Authorization and Approval to apply for the Combating Criminal Narcotics Activity Stemming from the Southern Border of the United States Grant with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).
BACKGROUND
Funding is provided from the Recovery Act: State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program for assisting and equipping local law enforcement along the southern border to combat criminal narcotics activity.
No local cash match is required.
Our office will be applying for funding of overtime hours and fringe benefits (excluding health and life insurance expenses) and for the purchase of equipment. We anticipate the grant period to be for one (1) year (June 01, 2009 to May 31, 2010).
