Urban County Program for Precinct No. 4 is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into Construction Contract with Metro Electric, Inc. (lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements) for the Big 5 Subdivision Street Improvements Solar Light Project located in Precinct 4 in the amount of $19,273.00 utilizing Year 21 (2008) street improvement funds. The project consists of the installation of four (4) solar lights in the subdivision.
BACKGROUND
Precinct No. 4 has requested and received bids for the street improvements (solar lights). TEDSI Infrastructure Group prepared specification packages and bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on August 5, 2009. After review the project engineer recommended Metro Electric, Inc., as the lowest of two (2) bidders. (See attached recommendation letter from the TEDSI Infrastructure Group, and copy of bid tabulations.)
