Requesting approval of an Amendment to the Hidalgo County 2008 Rehab Guidelines for Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), Office of Colonia Initiative (OCI) - Colonia Self-Help Center (SHC) Housing Assistance Program effective July 1, 2009.

The amendment will increase the reconstruction and new construction cost per unit from $33,500 to $42,000 for a single housing unit (All figures exclude the cost of demolition).  The amendment is necessary because of the increase of cost per unit due to time lapse from the date the application was submitted and the time of approval of the Rehab Guidelines.  The housing activities could not begin until the Rehab Guidelines were approved.  The TDHCA-OCI 2008-2009 Self Help Center Application was forwarded on May 28, 2008 and the Rehab Guidelines were approved by TDHCA-OCI on April 7, 2009.
