BACKGROUND
Rationale: In order for La Joya Independent School District to qualify under the 2011 Texas Safe Shelter Initiative Program, the County of Hidalgo has to partner with the ISD on their behalf. This partnership will be at no cost to the County of Hidalgo. La Joya Independent School District clearly understands and will be responsible for any and all financial obligation and requirements for construction of this facilities. It is the district intent to build a dome type shelter that can withstand 200 mile per hour winds in accordance to 2011 Texas Safe Shelter Initiative Program requirements and directions.
