BACKGROUND
The Assistant Budget Officer position is a department head level position and as of today Department Heads are not classified positions. A grade and step will be assigned to this position once the department heads are classified. At this point we are requesting that the position be a nonclassified position that will be exempt from the classification and compensation pay plan. The reason for that is that this position is a new position and we want it to commensurate with the new Budget Officer position.
