The Urban County Program is requesting approval of a best and final negotiated contract with R. Gutierrez Engineering Corporation in the amount of $122,490.00 utilizing Precinct No. 2 matching funds for the proposed Flood Drainage Improvement Project known as the “Minnesota Drain” under the Texas General Land Office Contract No. 10-5066-000-5043 (formerly TDRA Contract No. DRS010068).

BACKGROUND

R. Gutierrez Engineering Corporation has submitted a best and final offer for professional engineering services for Flood Drainage Improvements within Hidalgo County Precinct No. 2, City of San Juan, Tx. R. Gutierrez Engineering Corporation was the highest rated firm by Commissioner’s Court.  Contract approval in the amount of $122,490.00 is being requested.  The overall project cost will be $1,135,408.39 of which $600,000.00 is being provided by the Texas General Land Office for disaster recovery and restoration of infrastructure for communities impacted in 2008 by Hurricane Dolly. Pct. No. 2 has committed an amount of $535,408.39 as matching funds for the completion of the Minnesota Drain.
