Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Alamo is requesting consideration and action to award and issue a purchase order to Upper Valley Material, LLC (lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements) for the Street Improvements project in the amount of $40,401.00 utilizing Year 23 (2010) Alamo Street Improvement funds for the purchase and delivery of hotmix materials.

BACKGROUND

The City of Alamo has requested and received bids for the Street Improvements project. Quintanilla, Headley & Associates, Inc., prepared specification packages and bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on July 27, 2011. After review the project engineer proceeded to recommend the lowest qualified bidder. (See attached recommendation letter from Quintanilla, Headley & Associates, Inc., and copy of bid tabulation. The project consists of the purchase and delivery of hotmix materials for the reconstruction of North 10th, Birch Street, Citrus Street and Stensbo Street. All labor will be completed by the city of Alamo staff.
