Urban County Program is requesting a contract amendment consisting of a one hundred and thirty (130) day contract extension on the contract with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) for the construction of sewer improvements in Colonia De Anda & Saenz in Pct. # 1 under the TDA Colonia Construction Grant # 729055.

UCP is requesting approval from TDA for a one hundred and thirty (130) days contract extension due to extenuating circumstances such as that we found that a sewer section of about 680 linear feet that should have connected Colonia De Anda & Saenz to a lift station was not in place and the City of Mercedes needed to acquire said property for the installation of the sewer lines. A settlement to acquire the property was approved by the Mercedes City Commission on January 3, 2012. The previous contract extension requested and approved end date is February 18, 2012. Since the property was just acquired, additional time is needed to complete the bidding process, obtain construction contract approval, and construction completion of the additional sewer improvements. Therefore, UCP is requesting for 130 additional days to complete the project. The TDA contract end date is February 18, 2012 and the new contract end date will be June 27, 2012.
