Urban County Program on behalf of the City of La Joya is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Alvarez Construction for the Parks, Recreational Facility Improvements project in the amount of $64,000.00, utilizing funds from UCP Year 24 (2011), Urban County Parks, Recreational Facility Improvements line item.
BACKGROUND
The bid opening was held March 7, 2012 and the lowest bidder, JMD Construction, could not provide a payment bond. Due to the inability to meet the necessary requirements, the next lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements was Alvarez Construction. The project involves paving the youth facility parking lot located on 604 Salomon Chapa in La Joya, Texas. Please see attached recommendation by the project engineer.
